ABC News fill-in moderator Joy Behar engaged in another episode of manic stochastic terrorism on Tuesday’s edition of The View. Behar was in the thralls of an epic crash out as she ridiculously and dangerously declared that America would not “survive” President Trump’s second term. It was the kind of rhetoric that could spur on another assassination attempt, but she didn’t care. She even lashed out at her fellow co-hosts as they tried to talk her off the ledge.
“If you guys think that we can survive another three-and-half years of this, I think you’re delusional. Every day there’s some nihilistic thing,” Behar shrieked.
Co-host Sara Haines interrupted her to demand she not bring down the mood any more than she already did. To which, Behar shouted that America was doomed to destruction:
HAINES: It’s only Tuesday, Joy. Can we not start there?
[Crosstalk]
BEHAR: I mean, I hate to be Debbie downer. But every day this guy is undoing something in this country that we value. Every day. Every day is a shock and awe here. And I for one am skeptical that we will survive this.
HAINES: I am not. I do believe — .
[Crosstalk]
Behar was so far off the deep end that even co-host Sunny Hostin was trying to coax her back. Behar responded by claiming Trump was worse than anything she experience growing up during World War II (she was born October 7, 1942):
HOSTIN: But Joy, you’ve seen worse. You’ve seen worse right?
BEHAR: No, I have not.
HOSTIN: You’ve seen worse.
BEHAR: I grew up during World War II.
HAINES: It’s Whoopi that says she’s seen worse.
“I’m going to need Whoopi to cheer us up,” lamented faux conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin.
Hostin tried to remind Behar that she lived through other tumultuous times for the United States like the “Cuban Missile Crisis” and the Civil Rights movement, but Behar wasn’t having any of it. “And they were all dealt with by presidents who were not in the business of destroying the country. Destroying the constitution,” Behar shouted.
“I mean, we’ve always had presidents who followed the law, including Nixon. As bad as he was, he had respect for the Constitution,” Behar clownishly proclaimed. “Um, not all the time,” Haines chimed in.
“And he didn’t go after the military and call them names. I’ve not heard of such a thing in this country,” she continued to defend President Nixon.
In addition to Behar’s stochastic terrorism, it’s hypocritical for her to whine about the Trump administration “fat shaming” military generals when she and the rest of the cast were bashing the U.S. Army back in June and suggesting they were jackbooted thugs like the Nazis.
An unserious, but very dangerous “news” show.
