What would a transgender gymnastics category even look like?
There are very obvious (at least to anyone not in politics or the media) physical differences between men and women that translate into major unfair advantages in most mixed athletic competitions. Not an issue in gymnastics for a variety of structural reasons. That makes it all the more hypocritical for Simone Biles, best remembered for dropping out during the Olympics in Japan to focus on her “mental health” (which doesn’t seem to be doing all that well) but still ending up on a box of Wheaties because quitters are still champions as long as they’re members of woke identity politics groups, to dismiss what’s happening in women’s sports.
Fast forward to Simone Biles getting into a Twitter fight with women’s sports activist Riley Gaines and ranting that “you should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!!”
All sports. Really? What would a transgender gymnastics category even look like?
This conversation has virtually no impact on the one sport that Biles is part of (at least when she’s not quitting to protect her mental health) and rather than appreciating that, she’s exploiting it to attack women and girls being ground down by transgender male competitors.
