President Donald Trump took another jab at his predecessor and his use of the presidential autopen on Monday.
“Joe Biden would use the autopen,” Trump said in a video shared by the White House’s Rapid Response account on X. “He’d have an autopen follow him. You know Joe Biden? He didn’t sign — he was incapable of signing his name, so they’d follow him around with this big machine. You know what it was called? An autopen.”
Trump attended the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday and offered to sign some autographs for children at a table. Trump joked that they could sell his signature for $25,000 on eBay but said White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt “has zero interest” in getting his autograph.
Trump said Biden would pass “the paper” to someone else, who would proceed to sign it with the autopen.
Biden’s autopen usage is a recurring point of criticism and mockery from Trump, who placed a picture of the autopen in a place intended for Biden’s portrait. Biden confirmed that he had authorized the autopen due to the large number of clemencies he issued before his term ended.

The Trump administration’s Justice Department pushed back against a report that an investigation into Biden’s autopen usage had been shelved. A senior DOJ official told the Washington Examiner that the investigation is focused on the conduct of staff members surrounding Biden, not Biden himself.

The Washington Examiner contacted the DOJ and the White House for comment.
Trump also used the Easter Egg Roll to tout lower egg prices, saying they came down “over a short period of time.” Trump faced negative press shortly after his return to the White House due to a spike in avian flu cases, though the price has since reduced by 60% from last year’s high.
