Kamala Harris’ former running mate, Tim Walz, revealed that he was chosen for the 2024 Democrat presidential ticket so that he could “code talk” to white guys.
The bizarre admission was mocked to oblivion online after the Minnesota governor made the revelation during an interview at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics on Monday.
‘There are so many white guys in this country to choose from and she picked flamboyant femme Elmer Fudd.’
“I knew I was on the ticket, I would argue, because we did a lot of amazing progressive things in Minnesota that improved people’s lives, but I also was on the ticket, quite honestly, you know, ’cause I could code talk to white guys watching football, fixing their truck, doing that,” said Walz to some laughter from the audience.
“That I could put them at ease. I was the permission structure to say, ‘Look, you can do this and vote for this,’ and you look across those swing states — with the exception of Minnesota, we didn’t get enough,” he added.
Walz was mocked and ridiculed by those who found it ludicrous that he was chosen as outreach to white males.
“Because nothing screams blue-collar masculinity like Tim Walz — who looks like he calls AAA when the check engine light comes on,” said Texas Rep. Wesley Hunt (R).
“If Tim Walz was brought onto the Kamala Harris campaign to ‘cold-talk [sic] to white guys,’ then it’s puzzling why they muzzled him from doing interviews for most of a 107-day presidential race,” responded pollster Frank Luntz.
“There are so many white guys in this country to choose from and she picked flamboyant femme Elmer Fudd,” read another response.
“Hahahahahahaha that’s why only gay white men and single mother wine alcoholics liked them,” said another critic.
“It was, frankly, just too much testosterone in one man for many of us to handle,” joked John Ekdahl.
“This was a bit of a category error by Harris. TimWalz did speak to whiteguys, but only flamboyant heterosexuals such as myself,” joked anonymous online personality Jarvis Best. “On the one hand, I was flattered — you don’t see too many of us flamboheteros on the national stage. But I understand why he didn’t move the needle.”
Walz made headlines in March after he publicly cheered the slide in Tesla’s stock value before getting obliterated by Elon Musk on social media.
