No matter which party was in charge nor which party had publicly announced they were withholding their votes, the liberal media would always blame the Republicans, especially in an election year. The effort to manipulate the facts in that way was nakedly apparent during Monday’s episode of The View when the ABC co-hosts openly admitted it was Democrats who were “holding up funding” to the government and TSA, but still insisted it was “a Republican problem.”
Amid their conversation about the long lines at airports, and TSA workers not getting paid, co-host Ana Navarro admitted Democrats were behind it but suggested it was for the just and noble cause of sticking it to ICE:
NAVARRO: So, let’s remember what Democrats are holding out for.
GOLDBERG: Yes.
NAVARRO: Democrats want ICE agents to wear — to not wear masks, so they are not going around the streets terrorizing innocent people.
And they want there to be judicial orders instead of administrative warrants. So, they want people — they want ICE to go in front of a judge and get a warrant instead of being able to barge into people’s houses and drag people out in the cold and in the snow like they have doing.
“And they want body cameras as well. They want them to wear body cameras. And that’s why they’re holding up funding,” co-host Sunny Hostin proclaimed in agreement.
Despite admitting that the Democrats are “holding out” and “holding up funding” keeping the government shutdown, Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin were still insisting “this is a Republican problem”:

Despite just admitting that Democrats were “holding up funding” so they could get all the things “they want,” Hostin tried to gaslight her audience with the lie that this was “a Republican choice” and “a Republican problem”:
But let’s be clear, this is a Republican choice. This is a Republican problem because Republicans have rejected those requests and then the Democrats went back to the table and they said, ‘okay, what about we just fund TSA? What about we just do that part and then we will figure out the rest of the funding later?’ And Republicans rejected that as well.
In Hostin’s warped mind, it was “a Republican choice” because they should just be capitulating to Democrats, who were the reason the shutdown in the first place.
Abby Huntsman, who was filling in as the so-called “conservative” guest co-host, noted that it took two to tango but Hostin still claimed the shutdown was the Republican Party’s doing:
HUNTSMAN: Doesn’t it always take two, though, Sunny?
HOSTIN: But this is really a Republican problem.
HUNTSMAN: I think it’s an American problem.
HOSTIN: Just in my view, it’s a Republican problem because they are the ones in Congress running it.
Hostin says ICE are a danger at airports and suggest TSA agents are better trained.

Hostin went on to bloviate about how she felt uncomfortable about having ICE at airports because they supposedly weren’t as well trained as TSA, declaring that they had “no business” ever being at airports:
And I don’t feel comfortable at all having ICE agents there because ICE agents now only get – instead of getting 72 days of training they only get 42 days of training and they are not trained the way TSA agents — Let’s remember TSA agents require at least four to six months of training, including two to three weeks at a TSA academy. It includes x-ray simulation, passenger screening, bag inspection, emergency protocols, and then they have to get recertified every couple of months. An ICE agent with 42 days of experience wearing a mask and no body camera has no business in our airports!
“I disagree. First of all, I will say they are more dangerous undertrained on the streets than they are in the airports,” chided pretend independent Sara Haines. And without any explanation of where the figure came from or how it was measured, Haines proclaimed ICE’s “success rate at finding criminals has been five percent.”
The View’s Sara Haines like the idea of putting ICE in airports because according to her, they were doing close to nothing good for country otherwise: “Their success rate at finding criminals has been 5%.” pic.twitter.com/VQQgmbEQ9H

SARA HAINES: I was flying this weekend, too and I commend everyone that stood – I was in the Midwest and here and everything went well. The travelers were great.
I don’t actually hate the idea of this right now. ICE has gotten billions of dollars, they’ve almost doubled their budget. We’re talking about TSA workers who aren’t getting paid and the ones that are making it there are having to pay for gas prices and riding buses. And so, if you want to fill in bodies here because their success rate at finding criminals has been five percent. These are 100 percent guaranteed travelers coming through there. So, I just feel like putting more people on the job, I don’t see that as a bad thing.

ANA NAVARRO: And this is the second time in a year that they are missing paychecks. Remember this government shutdown also happened last year and TSA agents, again, weren’t paid.
Just before coming on Donald Trump was giving a press conference from the tarmac in West Palm Beach and he said that Democrats were calling wanting to make a deal and that he was instructing his people not to make a deal.
So let’s remember what Democrats are holding out for.
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Yes.
NAVARRO: Democrats want ICE agents to wear — to not wear masks, so they are not going around the streets terrorizing innocent people.
And they want there to be judicial orders instead of administrative warrants. So they want people — they want ICE to go in front of a judge and get a warrant instead of being able to barge into people’s houses and drag people out in the cold and in the snow like they have doing.

What about we just do that part and then we will figure out the rest of the funding later?’ And Republicans rejected that as well. So this is a Republican —
ABBY HUNTSMAN: Doesn’t it always take two, though, Sunny?

HAINES: I disagree. First of all, I will say they are more dangerous undertrained on the streets than they are in the airports, I would say.
