For years, the Southern Poverty Law Center has been the darling of liberals and Democrats as an agency that supposedly identified and fought against racism and white supremacy. Founded initially as a law firm in 1971 to combat discrimination and to allegedly make certain that the “civil rights movement became a reality for all,” it has morphed into a weaponized agency that targets any group, institution, or organization with differing or opposing viewpoints. It more resembles the Soviet Union’s Cheka than a protector of our nation’s constitutional liberties.
Last week, the radical left-wing political syndicate broke out its sickle and hammer to go after Turning Point USA, an organization that has promoted and advanced conservative Republican cultural ideals among the nation’s youth in the country’s high schools, colleges, and universities. It listed Turning Point in its “2024 Year in Hate and Extremism Report,” claiming the group was linked to “hard-right extremists” and promotes “Christian nationalism.” The SPLC also asserted that Turning Point helped “enforce a social order rooted in white supremacy.”
Similar to the scare tactics espoused by nearly everyone on the Left, the root of their criticism was the favorite boogeymen of liberals and Democrats: racism and white supremacy. It is objectively arduous to comprehend how these avowals of racism have any credibility left. Nevertheless, the SPLC made the frivolous accusation, and many left-wing acolytes and ideologues believed it.
Charlie Kirk, the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, scoffed at the SPLC categorization and criticized it for the agenda-driven scam of an organization it has become.
“The SPLC has added Turning Point to their ridiculous ‘hate group’ list, right next to the KKK and neo-Nazis, a cheap smear from a washed-up org that’s been fleecing scared grandmas for decades,” Kirk said. “They somehow still rake in over $100 million a year peddling their ‘hate map’ nonsense, sitting pretty in their Montgomery ‘Poverty Palace’ while crying about ‘hate’ to line their pockets. Even former staffers called their racket a ‘con.’”
“But it’s 2025, and nobody with a functioning brain buys their garbage anymore,” Kirk added. “The SPLC is a laughingstock, a hollowed-out husk of an organization that’s been exposed as a grift time and time again. They’re not just irrelevant — they’re a cautionary tale of how to torch your own credibility. Maybe someone should take a hard look at where all that ‘nonprofit’ money’s really going?”
As mentioned above, the SPLC doesn’t target groups that promote racism, discrimination, or prohibit making the “civil rights movement…a reality for all.” It demonizes, vilifies, and condemns any group of people who think differently than they do. In the so-called era of diversity and inclusion, the SPLC does its best to suppress true diversity and inclusion. The syndicate is about as discriminatory and exclusive as every bigoted hate group that has existed in the country.
For example, though the SPLC was quick to link Turning Point USA with hate groups, it has yet to do so with any group or ideology that stormed college campuses, rioted, looted, burned numerous buildings in numerous cities, briefly imperialized a section of Seattle and established a city-state, occupied university buildings, proudly displays images of Karl Marx or sickles and hammers, or yelled “free Palestine.”
In 2025, the SPLC’s purpose isn’t to root out racism, discrimination, or any other kind of societal repression. Its sole intent is to seek and destroy groups and organizations threatening its ideological objectives and political agendas. Turning Point, which was founded in 2012, has exploded in popularity, power, and influence in its 13 years. This surge constituted an obstacle to its goals. As such, the SPLC felt it needed to target it in its annual radical activist left-wing propaganda campaign.
SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER LISTED TURNING POINT USA ON ITS ‘HATE AND EXTREMISM’ REPORT
“Being on their list is a badge of honor,” Kirk said. “It means they’re terrified that we’re so effective. Keep crying, SPLC — America’s done with your scam.”
And he’s absolutely right. The SPLC is nothing but a radical, left-wing hate organization.
