What GLAAD views as a “dangerous precedent” is probably more accurately representative of the fact that audiences have had enough of the LGBTQ+++ agenda being crammed into every nook and cranny of the entertainment industry. LGBT “representation” was the big name of the game for decades, all while underrepresenting and not appealing to the largest audience — normies.
GLAAD released the 20th anniversary edition of its “Where We Are on TV” report, and it found that LGBT representation appears to be dwindling. Although the number of LGBT characters increased slightly in 2025 from 468 to 489 across all platforms, that number will take a big blow as more than 200 (41%) of those characters will not return due to series cancellations, endings, or being written out. Of the departing characters, the report tracked “a large and concerning number” of trans-inclusive series that have ended, including 9-1-1: Lone Star, Kaos, and Clean Slate. Since most of us haven’t even heard of those, it’s doubtful they’ll be missed.
“There is a definite concern that it’s not going to bounce back next year and see a growth just in terms of what’s been announced up to this moment,” GLAAD rep Megan Townsend told TheWrap. “We have not had a ton of announcements or news about new series and returning series within the research period that would make up for some of these losses.” What they see as a “loss,” the majority of Americans see as a gain. A little less woke crap being shoved down our throats is a win. We’re fed up with the force-feeding.
Townsend tried to insist that “inclusive stories resonate with audiences and drive business success.” Clearly, the opposite is true. If there were demand for such stories, networks wouldn’t be canceling them.
Townsend continued to whine, “With so many diverse, entertaining, and impactful series being canceled at an alarming rate, it is imperative that networks and streamers do not back down.” Methinks she doth protest too much. And who needs diversity when we have Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder? All kidding aside, the problem is that their series are not diverse enough. When all of your programs are pushing woke, LGBT, and DEI propaganda and nothing else, what you actually have is narrow-minded indoctrination into one way of thinking and behaving.
Rolling Stone reported, “HBO’s And Just Like That… and The Sex Lives of College Girls are among the series that feature LGBTQ+ characters, but will not be returning following their respective series endings and cancellations after three seasons. … Showtime’s Yellowjackets will end after its upcoming fourth season, accounting for the departure of at least three queer characters. Prime Video’s Harlem and Peacock’s Laid have also been cancelled.”
Well… bye, and good riddance. Call me crazy, but people are just tired of seeing ugly men pretending to be women, ugly lesbians pretending to be masculine, the demonization of marriage and family, unrealistic girl-bosses, emasculated men, and generally debased and depraved behavior all over their screens.
The GLAAD rep concluded, “Less than half of the LGBTQ characters counted appear on renewed series, and with their loss comes a loss of possibility for impact that continues for years with an audience, creating social change.” Yes, that is precisely what we’re hoping for — less social conditioning in immoral and deviant behavior and a social change that no longer disparages normalcy. At the very least, normalcy and morality should get representation if these hypocrites truly seek diversity. But in order to win the culture war and stop the slide down the proverbial slope, we’re going to need a reversal. We need shows that champion and defend normalcy and morality.
Make normies great again? Or something like that.
