Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth lauded the “different breed of individuals” behind the recent Operation Midnight Hammer military strikes against Iran’s nuclear sites.
The June 21 operation targeted the Fordow fuel enrichment plant, as well as the Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities. Hegseth affirmed yet again on the Saturday episode of My View with Lara Trump that President Donald Trump was “right” in his assessment as more is becoming known about the effects of the strikes as days go by.
This effort involved seven B-2 bomber aircrafts, which were piloted by largely anonymous military members. Fox News anchor Lara Trump probed Hegseth for further details about the crew.
“What I do know is it’s a different breed of individuals. You have to think about how much training goes into game time,” Hegseth said.
“I look at them and go, you’re a special breed, I couldn’t do what you do. I don’t know what was in your playlist. I don’t know how you slept. I don’t know how you went to the bathroom. I want to know those details and we’ll find out,” Hegseth went on. “But I respect the hell out of what you did and I’m proud of my nation because of what you were willing to do.”

Since the strikes, Iran retaliated against the U.S. base in Qatar. There were no American fatalities reported.
As a former Army National Guardsman, Hegseth expressed his hope that his children “see the courage and the honor and the commitment of men and women who serve” in the U.S. military through his appointment to the Defense Department.
