Re: What Did DOGE Really Accomplish?

“This was a precise and concise description of a snake (government) swallowing a frog (taxpayers). The Founders framed a magnificent document. Too bad politicians have trashed it.” —Louisiana

“Having served 40 years as an Army officer and many of those years in acquisition, you are absolutely correct. First, the acquisition process is cumbersome and not designed to be rapid in this age. Couple that with the risk-averse chain of command and bureaucratic stove pipes, and the process moves even slower. I firmly believe there is a lot of waste to be cut, including at DOD. Congress is quick to spend and slow to save, if at all.” —Michigan

Re: From SDI to Golden Dome — Finally!

“This assessment was very good. SDI was ahead of its time, but the time is now. I find it fascinating and ‘shocking’ for China to comment about starting a space-based arms race because clearly it already started it. It is nothing more than a Chinese sleight of hand to turn public (international and leftist) opinion against the Golden Dome concept while they continue to build arms and undermine Western interests. ‘Nothing to see here.’” —Michigan

Re: Harvard Prof Fired for Fabricating Honesty Data

“Beyond Trump’s legal disputes with Harvard over its tolerance for anti-Semitic attacks on Jewish students, apparently the institution’s academic reputation is also on its way to being no more than a pile of sodden ashes!” —South Carolina

Re: Karmelo Anthony Faces Life in Prison

“I am hoping this will stir you. We are sin-filled people — all of us — which leads to saying that our society is a manifestation of that sin nature. In our post-Christian era, brought on by ignoring that our laws are based on Christian values, we exchange truth for lies. The lie is simply that our intellectual ponderings (void of any spiritual understanding of sin) can bring about the very healing that you mention and we all seek.” —South Carolina

“The only reason he is not in jail is because of his skin color. He needs to be in jail. If he gets a lengthy prison term, then he deserves it. He should never have been let out when he was first arrested. This whole thing looks like first-degree murder any way you cut it. —California

Re: An Unfortunate MAHA Blunder

“This is so true. Artificial Intelligence is a great research tool. However, you must verify what AI spits out, as it could be wrong or bogus information. To solely rely on AI is lazy research and won’t hold water when scrutinized.” —Kentucky

Re: What’s Next for the Big Beautiful Bill?

“Those Democrats are willing to do what they are told to do even if it harms their neighbors and friends. Sort of lacking in both independence and character. Do they really believe that there is nothing of value associated with republican policies?” —Washington

Re: Wednesday: Below the Fold

“It sucks to be a Los Angles city hotel, and it’s great to be a hotel just outside the city limits. The real cure would to be outlawing ALL ‘minimum wage’ laws. They are nothing but edicts that are contradictory to a free enterprise economy. Usually they require an employer to pay most employees more than their labor is worth.” —Florida

Re: Anti-Semitic Terror in Boulder

“Yes, ‘The intifada is here,’ but it’s more than that, and it’s from more than one source. The American Left is persistently giving Islam a pass. It’s supporting Palestinian terrorism for sure, but it’s also supporting the global rise in anti-Semitism, even in the U.S. — perhaps ESPECIALLY here. The Left is trashing America, using anti-Semitism, sexism and racism bait, the trans movement, and other forms of bigotry as political weapons. Vote them out at the very next election cycle.” —North Carolina

“The Fox News affiliate reporter from Denver last night insisted several times that the attack was ‘not political.’ She had concluded that since Colorado’s Democrat Governor Jared Polis and Attorney General Phil Weiser, who are Jewish, had condemned the anti-Semitic attack, and since condemnation of terrorism was ‘from both sides,’ that it was not political. WRONG. Terrorism is ALWAYS political. This particularly violent attack was especially political, as the criminal was yelling ‘Free Palestine’ and other anti-Israel slogans during the attack.” —North Carolina

Re: Dems’ Missing Trafficked Migrant Children

“This might be semantics, but I’m frustrated at the notion that Biden ‘failed’ to protect the migrant children, that it was a ‘systemic failure.’ If Biden tried to protect those children and didn’t succeed, that would be a failure. But with his goal being to fast-track illegals into the country, regardless of age, even willfully hooking some up with traffickers, then he succeeded at child abuse. In the same vein, his illegal immigration scheme is the worst U.S. electorate abuse of all time.” —North Carolina
