Life is not only stranger, but much more horrifying than fiction. For example, the woman who signed off on all of the terrible, dubious and illegible visa applications from the 9/11 hijackers went on working for the State Department with no consequences. And the pilot who trained Mohammed Atta and joked about flying a plane into a building with them, was forced to leave the U.S. and got a job flying planes in Spain.
He’s now at the center of an international incident that happened when a Spanish budget airline, Vueling, forced a group of French Jewish campers ages 10-15 to leave the plane. And then violently arrested their 21-year-old female chaperone.
The woman who was arrested and beaten is the director of the Kinneret summer camp.
Fifty Jewish French children, aged 10 – 15, were singing Hebrew songs on the plane.

When social media sleuths began digging into the incident, they identified the pilot as Iván Chirivella and found that he was reportedly the same man who had provided flight training to the 9/11 hijackers. Some have accused him of playing a leading role in demanding that the children be kicked off the plane.
The ugly incident in Spain aside, it is absolutely mindboggling that anyone involved in enabling the 9/11 attacks is still working in anything resembling a field where they can pose a security threat. And yet it keeps on happening.
The lack of consequences is incredible.
