Netanyahu says it’s up to Iranian people to ‘throw off the yoke of tyranny’ of regime

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remained steadfast in his commitment to continue efforts against Iran, vowing on Tuesday to continue striking the country. However, he said, ultimately, it was up to the Iranian people to fully remove the authoritarian regime that thousands of demonstrators protested against in December.

“Our aspiration is to bring the Iranian people to throw off the yoke of tyranny,” said Netanyahu while visiting Israel’s National Health Emergency Operations Center, the Times of Israel reported.

“Ultimately, it depends on them,” he added. “But there is no doubt that through the actions taken so far we are breaking their bones — and our arm is still outstretched.”

“If we succeed together with the Iranian people, we will bring about a permanent end — if such things exist in the life of nations — and we will bring about change,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu’s comments came as Israel and Iran launched more missiles at each other in the Middle East on Tuesday.

Israel Defense Forces detected a ballistic missile was fired from Iran on Tuesday morning that was headed for central Israel, the Times of Israel reported.

Sirens sounded throughout the country, including Jerusalem, and millions of people took cover in shelters to protect themselves from the attack, according to reports.

Ultimately, Iran’s missile was intercepted, the IDF reported.

“There are no reports of direct impacts or injuries in the latest Iranian ballistic missile attack on Israel, the first in 10 hours,” according to the Times of Israel. “The missile was intercepted, according to initial military assessments.”

Elsewhere, IDF forces hit Hezbollah and other strategic military targets in Lebanon, according to the Times of Israel. The precision strikes were in response to Hezbollah rocket fire that allegedly came from the area a day earlier.

“During the night, the IDF attacked Hezbollah terrorist organization headquarters and infrastructure in the area of the village of Ansar in southern Lebanon, in response to the rocket fire that Hezbollah terrorist organization carried out yesterday (Monday) at Israeli territory from the area of the village,” read a translated post by the IDF on X.

“The Hezbollah terror organization embeds terror infrastructure in civilian areas, thereby endangering the residents of Lebanon,” read the post. “The placement of launchers and firing from civilian areas in Lebanon constitutes a cynical exploitation of Lebanese residents to advance Hezbollah’s terror objectives.”

Also, on Tuesday, Iran reportedly launched drone strikes at Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, the Associated Press reported. Both, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait said they shot down the Iranian drones in official statements on Tuesday morning.
