Michele Still Whining That America’s ‘Not Ready’ For Female President

I realize I’m far from being the first person to point this out, but is there a more ungrateful beneficiary of America’s demonstrably non-racist, non-misogynist character than former First Lady Michelle Obama?

Michelle O., twice a First Lady, has frequently polled in years past as America’s most admired woman. She has a net worth of $70-120 million, depending on the source. Her memoir Becoming was the bestselling book of 2018 in the U.S.; her more recent book The Light We Carry was a #1 USA TODAY bestseller. Her new $50 coffee-table book The Look, devoted to her “style evolution,” is a New York Times #1 bestseller as well. Her primary residence in Washington D.C. is an 8-bedroom, 8200-square foot mansion; she and husband Barack also share a 6-bedroom, 6,243-square f00t Chicago home and an $11.75 million, 6,892-square foot Martha’s Vineyard vacation/summer retreat with seven bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, a pool, barn, and ocean views set on 29.3 acres. Inexplicably, she has been the cover model for nearly every women’s fashion magazine, while First Lady Melania Trump – an actual model – has fewer women’s fashion magazine covers to her credit post-2016 than male stars Timothée Chalamet or Harry Styles.

And yet this celebrated woman seethes with rage and bitterness at the country she claims is systemically racist and misogynist. In the latest example of her relentless grievance-mongering, Michelle appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast, which depressingly has nearly 2 million YouTube subscribers, to hammer away at her dark fantasy that misogyny remains a factor in our national elections. She predictably named former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Vice President Kamala Harris, both failed presidential candidate, to make her case.

“We would just be silly to think that there aren’t just some gut kind of, I don’t know, like, we’re not even analyzing what those feelings are about because we’re trying to pretend like it’s all better,” she complained inarticulately in the episode released Wednesday.

She later added, “There are men out there that were not [going to] vote for a woman.” No doubt. But I would wager that there are many, many more women – and many men – out there who would vote for a woman regardless of her qualifications, simply because she’s a woman. Democrats will turn out in record numbers not to vote for the best candidate for America, but to score that historic first female President of the United States, because Democrats are driven by identity politics.

She said negative attitudes toward women remain “deeply embedded” in American culture, preventing many voters from believing they can submit to a woman president. This is absolute nonsense. The Left clings like a barnacle to this long-outdated Handmaid’s Tale fantasy that women in America are oppressed, second-class citizens.

This feminist gripe is an ongoing theme for Michelle. During a November 2025 appearance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, for example, she told a crowd of women that the country was “not ready” for a woman to lead.

“That’s why I’m like, don’t even look at me about running, because you all are lying. You’re not ready for a woman. You are not,” she said. “You know, we’ve got a lot of growing up to do, and there’s still, sadly, a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman, and we saw it.”

“Let’s look at the fact that we’ve had two really qualified female candidates,” she declared rather hilariously, referring to Hillary and Kamala. No serious person believes either of those two unlikeable harpies was “really qualified.” The corrupt, vindictive, ruthlessly power-mad Hillary isn’t qualified for anything but prison, and Kamala isn’t qualified even for that. If I were her cellmate, I would beg to be thrown into solitary rather than listen to her cackle and pontificate about being “unburdened by what has been.”

In any case, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer disagrees (this has to be the first time I’ve quoted the tyrannical Whitmer favorably). She said she believes the nation is ready for a woman president. “The question comes down to a choice between two people, and what we saw in this last election, while Kamala Harris didn’t beat President Trump, we saw women get elected across the country,” Whitmer told NPR in an interview this week. “We saw women win up and down the ballot in hard, important states to win, so I do think there’s an appetite… I just, for whatever reason, we have not had a woman president yet. I think we will at some point in the near future.”

Even Bill Maher, who occasionally gets things right like a broken clock, has pushed back against Michelle’s gripe. “To me, this is logical fallacy 101,” Maher said during a panel discussion after Michelle’s November pronouncement that we’re not ready for a female president. “Maybe it just has to be the right one.

Former DNC chair Donna Brazile agreed with Maher too, citing the millions of people who voted for Hillary and Kamala, and polling showing that 80% of Americans say they’d support a female president. “So the idea that America isn’t ready is bulls—,” Brazile said (this has to be the first time I’ve quoted Brazile favorably, too).

Left-leaning Straight Shooter host Stephen Smith also pushed back:

Weren’t there White women who voted for Donald Trump? Not just White men. Didn’t the blacks show up for Hillary Rodham Clinton? Didn’t Hispanics show up for Hillary Rodham Clinton? Wasn’t it Hillary Rodham Clinton who spent the last few days neglecting to campaign in places like Michigan or Wisconsin or Pennsylvania or places like that while [Trump] was everywhere? Y’all remember that?

He added that while Kamala lost in 2024, it was more likely due to Democrats running decrepit former President Joe Biden until the very last moment, not Americans being unwilling to vote for a female candidate: “Nobody told y’all to hold on to Joe Biden for dear life until July of that summer, when there was evidence that showed months earlier that he wasn’t ready anymore.”

Regardless of what ingrate Michelle Obama keeps insisting – despite being her own best refutation – America is not a racist, misogynist country. Americans will vote for a female presidential candidate when one appears who clearly is the best person to lead the country, not just because Democrats keep clamoring for one.
