Mexican Who Illegally Voted, Elected Mayor in Kansas Town

Zohran Mamdani, take a seat. Say what you will about Mamdani, at least he put in the effort to get citizenship shortly before running for public office. (That means he got a few third grade level questions about American history right and didn’t actively shout “Death to America” during the ‘swearing-in’ ceremony. Perhaps we should have higher standards.)

Mayor Jose Ceballos thought that was too much work before he decided to run for mayor and vote in Kansas elections.

Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach announced Wednesday that his office filed election fraud charges against Coldwater Mayor Jose Ceballos.

Ceballos was re-elected to office on Tuesday night.

Court documents accuse Ceballos of voting in multiple Kansas elections without being a U.S. citizen.

Court records filed in Comanche County show he faces six felony counts, including three for voting without being qualified and three for election perjury.

If convicted, he could face more than five years in prison.

And then address the DNC 2028 convention.

If you think I’m joking, the headline of the Kansas City Star is “Small-town Kansas mayor was re-elected. Then he was charged with illegally voting”.

It contains a statement from the head of the city council arguing that, “He’s working on, I believe, his citizenship. If he can get approval on his citizenship before swearing in for his next term, then he will be able to legally be mayor.”

That’s not how it works. He served and ran for office on an illegal basis. He’s been serving on the city council for almost a decade now. If someone in Coldwater had been parking illegally for a decade, I don’t think moving his car would make all of that go away.

Another user commented that Ceballos should be granted U.S citizenship — “effective retroactively from the time he began all his services to the community.”

Sure. And then make him president.

The Left kept claiming that we don’t need election integrity or a ban on non-citizen voting because non-citizens don’t vote. Not only do they vote, they hold elected office. The issue isn’t that it doesn’t happen, it’s that Dems want it to happen.
