When Rep. Ro Khanna, a House Democrat representing Silicon Valley, did an interview and then tweeted a clip featuring a Holocaust denier, to boast that he wasn’t taking money from the Jews, the only ones to cover it were Jewish publications like Jewish Insider, Jewish Weekly, the Jerusalem Post and a handful of others. Along with Mediate.
Similarly only Jewish and conservative publications covered Ro Khanna’s appearance at Arab Con which featured praise of Hamas and the Oct 7 atrocities.
Neither the New York Times or any other mainstream media publication found the descent of a leading House Democrat, a member of the House Oversight Committee, who is angling for a more important role, into antisemitism, significant.
These publications, of course, amply covered recent antisemitism issues involving elements of the movement, like Tucker Carlson and the woke right, that is currently at war with conservatives. And they’re still doing it.
This isn’t accidental. It’s about sides.
The same media that used to slam Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for the Jewish space lasers stuff is now writing positively about her attacks on Israel and Trump. Within a couple of years, media portrayals of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene went from ‘look at that goofy right-wing antisemite’ to “Marjorie Taylor Greene is winning my respect. Here’s why.” in the Washington Post (an op-ed from an Islamist)
But why get bogged down in personalities.
The media spent the last two years running cover for campus mobs attacking Jewish students and the universities that covered for them. It’s now pressuring the universities not to ‘give in’ to Trump by agreeing to stop the attacks. And cheering on Dem politicians like Gov. Gavin Newsom who berated California’s legislative Jewish coalition for not getting on board sooner with supporting assaults on Jews by mobs cheering Hamas.
Democrats and the media don’t care about antisemitism or Jews except it suits their purposes. And that’s a point that needs to be made clearly as the media suddenly starts writing about antisemitism in politics again.
The media is fine with every instance of antisemitism from the Left, whether it’s Mamdani, Rep. Ro Khanna or mobs assaulting Jewish students at UCLA and rioting in front of synagogues. The only reason the media will cover antisemitism is to attack conservatives. That doesn’t mean the antisemitism isn’t real. But the concern is completely fake.
