Mamdani Praises Imam Who Defended Al Qaeda Terrorist and Called for Sharia Law

“It is that of a Muslim religious minority in a land ruled by non-Muslims, according to public laws based on other than the Sharia.”

That should read “again praises”. On the lists of imams that Zohran Mamdani has palled around with, Imam Talib Abdur-Rashid is far from the worst. The Investigative Project on Terrorism database entries on him are mild compared to Imam Sirraj Wahhaj, whom Mamdani embraced right after his debate, and who was an unindicted coconspirator in a New York City bombing plot. By contrast, Imam Talib Abdur-Rashid just supported an Al Qaeda terrorist and called for Sharia law.

Mamdani tweeted, “saddened to learn about the passing of Imam Talib Abdur-Rashid, a pillar of the African-American Muslim community in Harlem and for Muslims across NYC.”

Here are some of the views of Mamdani’s “pillar”.

“I believe it is vital that those in our position as Muslim people in America, what is our position? It is that of a Muslim religious minority in a land ruled by non-Muslims, according to public laws based on other than the Sharia.” Imam Talib Abdur-Rashid.

Imam Talib Abdur-Rashid defended Rafiq Sabir who was convicted two years later for agreeing to be a medic for wounded Al-Qaeda members abroad. Sabir was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Mamdani’s latest favorite imam was quite understanding about the whole wiping out the Jews thing.

“But he [Imam Talib] said Mr. Ahmdinejad’s call for Israel’s destruction reflects a ‘sentiment born of the legitimate anger, frustration, and bitternesss that is felt in many [parts of the Muslim World.’ Mr. Abdur Rashid said.

This is Mamdani’s pillar.
