Democrats used to claim that they were just providing sanctuary states and cities for illegal aliens, sorry ‘undocumented persons of illegality’, but not violent criminals, just perhaps the occasional illegal driving without a license with a blood alcohol level with no zeroes in it.
The Zohran Mamdani administration is keeping it real by announcing New York City will be a sanctuary for violent illegal alien felons.
Elle Bisgaard-Church, the Chief of Staff for Zohran Mamdani, claimed that Mamdani “made clear that we uphold sanctuary laws in our city and all immigrants will be safe in our city” and those ‘laws’ only allow cooperation with ICE “in extreme violent felony cases.”
What’s an “extreme violent felony”? Well it’s different than a moderate violent felony like a mugging, assault, rape or a mild murder.
It’s kind of like moderate Islam and extreme Islamic terrorism.
Moderate violent illegal aliens will be protected by Mamdani, but if they kill more than 3 people in one hour (unless they do it while shouting “Allah Akbar”) they may be turned over to ICE.
Of course it depends on how you define moderate. Since Mamdani thinks Hamas is moderate, it might actually be more like killing 1,000 people in one hour.
Still you can’t deny that Mamdani is a moderate. Just wait till the next DSA candidate announces that cities must be a sanctuary for illegal alien extreme violent felons.
Mamdani’s chief of staff says that NYC will remain a sanctuary city under Mamdani.
That means easier mass deportations as there will be more illegals to round up in a smaller location.
