Kamala: I Didn’t Pick Buttigieg Because U.S. is Too Racist, Sexist and Homophobic

Kamala Harris is prepping her next presidential campaign with her book 107 Days (stay tuned for a surprise from us on that front). The book’s excuse/premise is that Kamala only had 107 Days to figure out how to run for office and that just wasn’t enough. The fallback excuse/premise is that America was just too racist and sexist to vote for a black woman. So it’s definitely too bigoted to vote for the gay man likely to run in 2028. (Hint, hint.)

As Kamala Harris rushed to pick a running mate last year, her “first choice” was her close friend Pete Buttigieg, but she decided that it would be “too big of a risk” for a black woman to run with a gay man.

Buttigieg “would have been an ideal partner—if I were a straight white man,” Harris writes in a passage of her soon-to-be-released book, 107 Days, that I saw. “But we were already asking a lot of America: to accept a woman, a Black woman, a Black woman married to a Jewish man. Part of me wanted to say, Screw it, let’s just do it. But knowing what was at stake, it was too big of a risk.”

Did Kamala just say Buttigieg “would have been an ideal partner—if I were a straight white man?” Does she not have any editors? Or people who read these things out loud and think about how they sound? Never mind.

Buttigieg was a longtime rival and even kept his PAC going while serving in the Biden administration. He was always a threat and Kamala is clumsily trying to neutralize him here. Especially because he was polling well for 2028.

Would Kamala have really picked Buttigieg? I doubt it. Buttigieg has many faults, but he’s articulate, and there’s no way that Kamala would have allowed a VP to overshadow her. So she picked a gibbering idiot who could hardly connect two words together without going headfirst into a ditch (but not before stopping by L.L Bean to pick up a $25 camo cap to show his rural authenticity.) Buttigieg as VP would have been a threat even more than when he served in a petty administration position. So she was never going to pick him.

But she’s now suggesting that Buttigieg shouldn’t be considered by Dem voters because America is too bigoted. Rather than taking credit for her attack, she’s trying to attribute it to “America.”

Kamala’s answer to everything really is accusing America of bigotry.
