The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) managed to secure the release of the UK-based pro-Hamas speaker and “journalist” Sami Hamdi, who told a mosque to “celebrate the victory” days after the October 7 jihad attack, from federal immigration detention. This is a followup to the the earlier story:ICE detains UK ‘journalist’ suspected of Muslim Brotherhood connections, he now faces deportation“: “Council on American-Islamic relations says British journalist to be released from immigration detention,” Bay City News, November 10, 2025:

BCN) — An American Muslim civil rights group announced Monday that it has helped secure the release of British journalist and political analyst Sami Hamdi from federal immigration detention.

Hamdi, managing director of The International Interest, a geopolitical consulting and advisory publication, was detained Oct. 26 at San Francisco International Airport while he was in the middle of a U.S. speaking tour….

He was in the country on a valid visa that was “secretly” revoked by federal officials as a pretext for his detention, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which worked to secure his release with the help attorney Hassan Ahmad of the HMA Law Firm and the Muslim Legal Fund of America.

Hamdi will be allowed to return to the United Kingdom voluntarily, according to CAIR.

“The immigration charging document filed in his case alleged only a visa overstay — after the government revoked his visa without cause and without prior notice — and never identified any criminal conduct or security grounds,” CAIR officials said in a news release. “This agreement establishes that the government does not consider Hamdi a danger to the community or to national security.”…

Lying CAIR — an unindicted co-conspirator in a jihad terror funding case — insists that ICE targeted Hamdi for “criticizing Israel.” No, it didn’t. CAIR also asserts that his release agreement proves “ that the government does not consider Hamdi a danger to the community or to national security.” It proves no such thing. A federal judge blocked the government from transferring Hamdi out of California while his case was still active, as CAIR posted on X:

CAIR had “vowed to pursue all legal avenues to secure Hamdi’s release and to challenge what it called ‘a politically motivated act of repression against a journalist whose only ‘crime’ was speaking truth to power.’” Of course, CAIR only recognizes its brand of “truth,” i.e., anything that supports its Muslim Brotherhood goals: CAIR’s Executive Director Nihad Awad, “according to the FBI, led a pro-Hamas conference in Philadelphia in 1993, where he and Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) and Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP) members discussed how to best support Hamas while concealing their true beliefs, such as support for Hamas conquering all of Israel, from the US.”

Newsweek published a more accurate account of the Sami Hamdi story: DHS Revokes Visa for British Journalist Accused of Supporting Terrorism. And Amy Mek provides details here:

This time around, Hamdi and CAIR were successful in securing his detention release. Now he heads back to the UK — which US Rep. Brandon Gill has described as now being “a Muslim country” for good reason. Let’s hope Hamdi will be denied re-entry into America on national security grounds, despite CAIR’s calculated portrayal of him as a target only for criticizing Israel.
