President Donald Trump, being the consummate businessman that he is, often employs the carrot-and-stick method. The carrot is for positive reinforcement and desirable behavior, and the stick is what he’ll beat you with for being obstinate.
In the same vein, when it comes to stemming the border invasion and convincing illegal aliens already in the interior to return home, Trump and his team have a lovely carrot-and-stick structure.
The carrot that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is dangling involves incentivizing self-deportation. Those who self-deport using the CPB Home app will receive a $1,000 stipend and a chance to return to the United States the legal way. The stick is wielded by border czar Tom Homan and ICE agents, who round up, arrest, and deport illegal aliens who don’t accept the carrot and therefore have forfeited any opportunity to come back to the U.S. It’s an amazing one-two punch.
As our Douglas Andrews stated back in May, “They’re a largely unskilled societal menace, and they put an incalculable burden on the American taxpayer. So why not pay them to leave?”
According to Axios, an estimated 1.5 million immigrants (legal and illegal) have left the country in 2025. Axios and other legacy media are by no means in support of this good news. To them, the decline in America’s foreign-born population is a black mark against the current administration.
The Center for Immigration Studies reports an even higher number. Citing the Bureau of Labor Statistics, CIS estimates that 2.2 million foreign-born people (legal and illegal) have left the country. It further calculates that the illegal alien population has declined by 1.6 million in the last six months.
Nevertheless, left-wing rags like Axios and NBC News want their readers to think that self-deportation isn’t working. In fact, NBC reported that the CPB Home app wasn’t downloaded enough times to justify a self-deportation estimate of 1.5 million. Yet the same article talks about how illegals are self-deporting using other means, either because they found the app’s instructions unclear, or to spite the administration and mess with the numbers.
These Democrat mouthpieces are wishcasting by asserting that self-deportation isn’t effective and a waste of taxpayer dollars. And they certainly don’t want to admit that border security was entirely possible during Joe Biden’s four years as president; Democrats just didn’t want to enforce the laws. The Biden administration facilitated an invasion through the southern border and then claimed your eyes were deceiving you.
The American people were and are still being gaslighted by the Democrats in power. Now that the Trump administration is going about shutting down the border, facilitating self-deportations, and deporting those who remain stubborn, their feigned impotence is exposed.
Which leads one to once again ask: Why did the Democrats decide to flood our country with illegals?
Some of it was economical — cheap labor and not having to adhere to humane working conditions. Some of it was political — more illegal aliens equals more potential Democrat voters. But the ultimate goal was to destroy the United States from within. The leftists in power imported millions upon millions of foreigners who refused to assimilate, all to slowly undermine the largest bastion of Western civilization.
Just look at what mass migration has done to Europe in general and the United Kingdom in particular. The native British population and culture are being erased and replaced — and if the plebeians complain, they might get thrown in jail.
It’s not a pretty picture for our neighbors across the pond. Thanks to the Trump administration, though, that bleak outlook for our own country is being reversed one deported illegal alien at a time.
