The autopsy of the Democrats’ defeat in November continues apace. With 2,300 more counties shifting red in 2024, the Democrats are trying to figure out where they went wrong. The New York Times published an article last Sunday in which the author, Shane Goldmacher, admits:
Six months after President Trump swept the battleground states, the Democratic Party is still sifting through the wreckage. Its standing has plunged to startling new lows — 27 percent approval in a recent NBC News poll, the weakest in surveys dating to 1990 — after a defeat that felt like both a political and cultural rejection.
Americans are rejecting the Democrats on a cultural level. Here are some major reasons why.
The Un-Democratic Party
The Democratic Party isn’t very democratic at all, which is why we routinely refer to it as the Democrat Party. Even in its primary process, it can thwart the will of constituents by electing superdelegates at the Democratic National Convention (see the figurative shanking of Bernie Sanders in 2016 and 2020). A similar occurrence happened in 2024. Democrats were willing to put “Weekend at Bernie’s” President Joe Biden in power in 2020, but when his diminished state became untenable, the powers that be coronated Kamala Harris without any sort of democratic process. Party powerbrokers merely give voters an illusion of having a say while pulling the strings.
Democrats Peddle Fear
Immigrant and author Alma Ohene-Opare put it very articulately in a post on social media. After showing a clip of a leftist woman (septum piercing firmly visible) lamenting that her son was going to lose financial aid because she was told by her sources on the Left that FAFSA was being dismantled, Ohene-Opare observed:
Even in a world saturated with information, a world that is saturated with tools for discovering that information … people can be so isolated from basic facts that they live in a self-imposed alternative reality that is causing them real emotional harm. There are people in our country today who are waking up to a sense of despair because they have internalized a false sense of doom and attributed malice to people they’ve never met, to policies that don’t exist, and a reality that has no impact on their lives.
Ohene-Opare went on to say:
The greatest and most destructive form of oppression in America today is ignorance. And what makes that ignorance worse is that it comes with a dose of self-righteousness and a pinch of hatred for those who ascribe to a different set of values.
Democrats Have Lost Male Voters
The Left has lost men. That gender gap was made patently clear in 2024. Men have been talked down to and shamed to the ground by the Democrat Party. They are the villains in the Left’s favorite stories.
Over the past couple of years, the Leftmedia has published numerous articles saying that working out, eating red meat, and liking beautiful women are “right wing” concepts. A sane man would look at these cultural commentaries and say, “Well, I guess I’m right wing now.” Democrats demonize masculinity and then wonder why men voted Republican.

A New York Times article discussing the “cultural rejection” of the Democrat Party mentions that elite Democrats are holding meetings to figure out how to talk to young men. Democrats are spending $20 million, and here is what they’ve come up with:
It is code-named SAM — short for “Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan” — and promises investment to “study the syntax, language and content that gains attention and virality in these spaces.” It recommends buying advertisements in video games, among other things. “Above all, we must shift from a moralizing tone,” it urges.
Frankly, this reads like they are studying an alien species.
Former Democrat vice president hopeful Tim Walz told reporters that he was picked to be Harris’s running mate because he could “code talk to other white men.” This comment coupled with SAM should be a glaring red flag for the Democrats. (I.e., you’re doing it wrong).
Then add in the whole transgenderism issue. As our Mark Alexander put it, “Democrats are trying to figure out how to rectify their male voter deficit. The problem is they have not figured out how to define ‘male.’”
Democrats Have Lost Most of America
Democrats are seen as the party of the out-of-touch elites trying to make their own utopia while not actually having to deal with the consequences of their policies. Simultaneously, they are seen as blue-haired, septum-ring-wearing, firebomb-throwing lunatics. Neither is a group to be looked up to.
It’s Become a Lockstep Uniparty
Finally, podcaster and political pundit Tim Pool articulates why he believes the Left has become a cult. In an interview with the podcast “Triggernometry,” Pool discusses how under MAGA, the Republican Party has become diverse and can debate ideas without fear. The Democrats have lost that ability. The second a Democrat starts deviating from the groupthink, they are demonized. Pool and the hosts of “Triggernometry” also say that they cannot get a leftist to do a podcast with them because they are afraid of their own party. Pool opines:
The reason I say it’s a cult is you could not define what they believe. … The Left swings around randomly in random directions. Nobody knows exactly where they’re turning: left or right, up or down. [Leftists are] just trying to make sure they stay safely in a position where someone else won’t bludgeon them in the head with a bike lock.
In Conclusion
Americans don’t like to be told how to think, and they certainly don’t want to be “code-talked” to. Democrats are currently utterly defeated. I hope that doesn’t change anytime soon.
