A new immigration-focused nonprofit group plans to amplify stories related to the southern border and immigration policy that are unreported or underreported by the media.
The American Border Story, or TABS, is being launched Wednesday by three conservatives with various media experience: Nicole Kiprilov, Anthony Aguero, and Christian Hartsock. In a press release provided first to the Washington Examiner, TABS stated that its work will be “focused on exposing the human impact of America’s immigration crisis.”
“We cannot ignore the devastating effects the border crisis has had on families, children, and vulnerable communities across this country,” said TABS Executive Director Nicole Kiprilov, who previously worked on Trump-aligned America First movements, in a statement. “At TABS, our goal is to humanize this issue, counter false narratives about immigration policy in America, and create a movement that advocates for stronger border policies grounded in empathy and common-sense.”
In a more detailed statement about its mission, TABS said it would focus on the impact of policies employed by the Biden administration between 2021 and 2025, as well as countering narratives in the media and amplifying specific stories that “shed light on the extreme human suffering that has occurred as a result of radical immigration policies.”
TABS will also highlight, applaud, and amplify the Trump administration’s actions related to border security, the fentanyl epidemic, and public safety.
“Unfortunately, the media often misreports efforts by this administration to keep the American people safe, and they regularly neglect to tell the stories of the millions of men, women, and children who have had their lives upended by the weak border policies put in place by the previous administration,” the press release stated.
The organization denounced how former President Joe Biden had managed migration and border security during his term and praised President Donald Trump for how he had begun to rectify the situation in his first 100 days.
Aguero’s profile on X states that he is an “America First independent reporter.” Hartsock previously worked for One America News Network’s Fine Point with Chanel Rion and Project Veritas.
100-DAY REPORT CARD: TRUMP TACKLES BORDER, BUT HITS SETBACKS ON DEPORTING IMMIGRANTS
During the Biden administration, the number of immigrants arrested by the Border Patrol for illegally attempting to enter the United States from Mexico peaked at 250,000 arrests in December 2023.
The number has come down significantly since then to just 7,200 arrests in March, following 175 immigration-related actions that Trump has taken since Jan. 20.
