CNN Cuts Cost of ‘Paid’ Membership to $3.50

This is a really great time to get a good deal on CNN… if for some incomprehensible reason you want a good deal on something most people won’t take for free.

CNN went down this road before with CNN+.

Back then CNN President Jeff Zucker billed CNN+ as being for “CNN superfans, news junkies and fans of quality non-fiction programming.”

It turned out that those didn’t exist.

CNN charged $2.99 a month for CNN+ which launched in March of 2022, at a cost of $300 million, and shut down in April 2022, at a cost of $300 million.

CNN is trying again at a full-service streaming subscription.

The news network announced Thursday its “All Access” subscription will launch in the U.S. on October 28 and cost $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually.

Back then I observed that people didn’t want it for $4 a month in 2022, but with inflation, surely they will be ready to pay $7.00 a month for it. Right?

Not so much. CNN All Access is now down to $3.50 a month.

“CNN has slashed 40% off the CNN All Access streaming package. The premium tier bundles the network’s live feeds, next-day TV episodes, documentaries, and more with full access to CNN.com articles, with a big introductory discount that cuts the first year to $41.99 (annual list price $69.99)”

The headline bills this as get it “before it’s gone.” I agree. And by that I don’t mean before the offer is gone, but before CNN is gone.
