MSNBC host Jen Psaki rolled out the “Mean Girls” routine on the “I’ve Had It” podcast with two former Bravo reality-TV stars, Jennifer Welch and Angie “Pumps” Sullivan. It’s bad enough for Psaki to mock Vice President JD Vance. But she mocked his wife Usha like she was in a hostage video.
PSAKI: I think the little Manchurian candidate, JD Vance, wants to be president more than anything else,” Psaki said. “I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of his wife. Like, are you OK? Please blink four times. Come over here. We’ll save you.
And that he’s willing to do anything to get there. And your whole iteration you just outlined, I mean, he’s scarier in certain ways, in some ways….And he’s young and ambitious and agile in the sense that he’s a chameleon who makes himself whatever he thinks the audience wants to hear from him.
It’s not a surprise that they’d say Vance is even “scarier” than Trump, because they presume he’s smarter — just as they did with Ron DeSantis.
As some remarked on social media, this VP-power-lust critique certainly could have matched Joe Biden (and Jill). They wanted to be president “more than anything else,” more than the mental health of their children with substance abuse. As White House press secretary, Psaki would have been expected to trash any journalist who suggested Biden’s wife was in a hostage video or under duress.
This echoes a lot of trashy leftist speculation about Melania Trump, who is often painted as trapped in a loveless marriage. The podcast video is captioned: “Usha Vance, please blink twice if you need help.” Then there’s the added “woman of color” edge to their hostage humor.
Jen Psaki says JD Vance in “scarier” than Donald Trump & suggests his wife Usha wants out of their marriage.

This also comes from the MSNBC sector that slavishly promoted the last vice presidential spouse, Doug Emhoff, even after credible allegations of violence toward an old girlfriend. Days before that allegation broke, Psaki interviewed Emhoff, and teed him up to attack Trump for suggesting Democrats are “bad to Israel” and Jews should “have their head examined” if the vote for Kamala: “Do you worry that he’s putting a target on the backs of Jewish Americans?” This came just weeks after Trump was targeted and shot in the ear.
It’s obvious Psaki is really picking the wrong vice-presidential spouse to paint as troubled. Emhoff admitted to impregnating his nanny, who also served as his daughter’s second grade teacher. Psaki wasn’t going to ask about that.
The hosts of this trashy podcast — with 1.3 million subscribers — opened their Psaki podcast by hailing their audience as comprised of “patriots, gay-triots, they-triots, blacktriots, browntriots” and “the people who don’t support them can f–k off!” What a treat of a show.
