Over the years, longtime California Representative Nancy Pelosi has had her crazy moments. For example, the former speaker of the House said we had to pass ObamaCare to “find out what is in it,” and she infamously ripped up President Donald Trump’s 2020 State of the Union address. Thankfully, however, her time in the limelight is reportedly coming to an end.
How does she want to go out? Well, ranting and raving, it seems.
Pelosi recently interviewed with CNN’s Elex Michaelson to discuss California’s Proposition 50, which voters there greenlighted yesterday. Prop. 50 will allow the California legislature, as opposed to an independent commission, to redistrict, ultimately adding even more Democrats to the U.S. House of Representatives in next year’s midterms. (Because California isn’t gerrymandered enough.)
Redistricting in California is a direct result of Texas’s redistricting gambit, which was all Trump’s fault, according to Pelosi. Here was the exchange:
Michaelson: “As somebody who reveres the House of Representatives itself — I mean, more than just about anybody — how does it make you feel to see what’s happening in the House right now?”
Pelosi: “Our Founders did not want to have again — how can I say this? It’ll sound like I’m awful about Trump because he’s just a vile creature, the worst thing on the face of the earth. But, anyway…”
Michaelson: “You think he’s the worst thing on the face of the earth?”
Pelosi: “I do, yeah. I do.”
Michaelson: “Why is that?”
Pelosi: “Because he’s the president of the United States, and he does not honor the Constitution of the United States. In fact, he’s turned the Supreme Court into a rogue court. He’s abolished the House of Representatives. He’s chilled the press. … He’s scared people who are in our country legally, but making them smashing into their cars, and the rest.”
Nancy Pelosi crashes out in a sneak peek from her upcoming CNN interview.
Her comments about President Trump were so off the rails that even CNN’s Elex Michaelson had to stop her to clarify what she meant.
She then launched into a string of falsities.

Her specious assertion for why Trump is “vile” lends itself to the impression that she is basing her reasoning on the rantings and ravings of excess emotion. Predictably, Michaelson asked no follow-up questions, such as what Trump was doing to dishonor the Constitution, or how the Supreme Court has been turned “rogue.” The very fact that Pelosi believes the press has been “chilled” is laughable.
Throwing insults at Trump isn’t new, but the Democrats’ burgeoning dehumanization of Republicans has deadly consequences, which is why Trump was nearly assassinated and Charlie Kirk is now dead.
Pelosi was an impressive strategic operator within the Democrat Party, but it was under her and President Barack Obama that our discourse took a turn for the worse. They legitimized the radical among the Left, and Democrats are now finding that their party is heading in a terrible direction as a result.
Pelosi has called for lowering the rhetorical temperature, particularly after her own husband was assaulted in their home in 2022, but she really only means for one side — the Republicans’. That’s what all leftist politicos mean when they claim to want to tone down the rhetoric. After all, their silence was deafening when Virginia Attorney General-elect Jay Jones called for violence against his conservative opponent and when New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani refused to denounce jihadist phrases for the ethnic cleansing of Israel.
Pelosi has not announced a reelection bid, leading many to speculate that her retirement is near. If that speculation holds true, she will be leaving Congress a worse place than she found it, turning the vitriolic spigot way up on her way out.
