Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) will hold a press conference Thursday morning to provide updates on the prolonged government shutdown while the House remains out of session.
The shutdown is now on its 30th day, nearing ever closer to the 35-day historic shutdown during President Donald Trump’s first term.

Johnson is keeping the House of session to put pressure on Senate Democrats as they continue voting against the House-passed “clean” continuing resolution to fund the government through Nov. 21. The House will meet for a brief session on Friday, according to CSPAN. No votes will take place.
Thursday’s press conference is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
