We’ll say this about the Trump-deranged Left: Their comedic timing is exquisite.
Tomorrow, the so-called “No Kings” movement will take to the streets all across America to oppose the fruitful and benevolent reign of President Donald J. Trump, whom they want you to believe is ruling like a tyrant rather than a vigorous and constitutionally empowered chief executive. According to the organizers’ website, “People across the United States will mobilize again for No Kings, a nationwide, nonviolent day of action to defend democratic norms and reject authoritarianism.”
And all this on the heels of a historic week of presidential peacemaking, during which Trump engineered a remarkable peace deal between Israel and the beleaguered remnants of Hamas, spoke before a raucous and deeply appreciative Israeli Knesset, then jetted off to the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh, where a steady stream of world leaders patiently stood in line for the privilege of having their picture taken with the American president, and where Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi El-Sissi awarded Trump the Order of the Nile, that nation’s highest civilian honor.
While all this was happening, Venezuelan democracy activist and freshly minted Nobel Peace Prize recipient Maria Corina Machado was gently poking her finger in the eye of the Euro-elitist Nobel committee by dedicating her award to — who else? — Donald Trump “for his decisive support of our cause.”
What cause might that be, you ask? Why, the cause of “freedom and democracy,” according to Machado.
Oh, the cognitive dissonance. This peacemaking and pursuit of democracy is strange behavior for a king, for a tyrant, for an authoritarian, is it not?
But there’s more. With his team’s 20-point Middle East peace plan in place, Trump turned his geopolitical focus to playing rare-earth hardball with Chinese dictator Xi Jinping and Tomahawk hardball with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, whose murderous war with Ukraine was invited by Joe Biden and has since cost around a million Russian and Ukrainian lives.
As Trump put it in a Truth Social post yesterday: “I have just concluded my telephone conversation with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, and it was a very productive one. … At the conclusion of the call, we agreed that there will be a meeting of our High Level Advisors, next week. … President Putin and I will then meet in an agreed upon location, Budapest, Hungary, to see if we can bring this ‘inglorious’ War, between Russia and Ukraine, to an end.”
Here at home, Trump is holding firm against the Democrat-induced Schumer Shutdown, overseeing a strong economy, driving an American manufacturing boom, and beating back Bidenflation.
At the same time, he’s working to ensure that the laws of the United States are faithfully executed — including our immigration laws — and that the American people can feel safe and secure, even in the face of hard-left Democrat opposition in our deepest-blue cities.
Thus, tomorrow’s “No Kings” marchers will have to deny reality, just as they did in their first such protest back in June. But here, I would remind this motley crew of adolescent snowflakes and retired sociology professors that King Donald isn’t stopping their protests, isn’t calling out the National Guard to crack their skulls.
Some king. Some tyrant. Heck, we in our humble shop have half a mind to show up with “No Queens” signs at the rally here in Chattanooga.
I’d also remind these protesters that their party, the Democrat Party, spent the last four years behaving like tyrants themselves. They were the ones, after all, who weaponized the Department of Justice against Trump and his supporters. They were the ones who tried to imprison the leader of the political opposition by raiding his private residence over a documents dispute, by siccing an unconstitutional special counsel on him, and by conspiring to indict him simultaneously in multiple jurisdictions purely to keep him off the ballot and thereby deny the American people a chance to vote for him. Theirs is the party that spied on sitting Republican senators for no lawful reason, that sicced the FBI on law-abiding Catholics and on concerned parents at school board meetings, that forced an experimental vaccine on federal employees and American warriors, that propped up a cognitively addled Autopen President, and that anointed his dim-witted vice president as their presidential candidate even though she didn’t earn a single vote.
Not that any of this will matter to these Trump-deranged dead-enders. Nor will it matter that patriotic Americans already celebrate a “No Kings” day. It’s July 4th.
