All the news cycle bandwidth over the last 24 hours has been absorbed by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s revelation that the “Epstein Files” were a nothing burger. Bondi announced, Nothing to see here; move along. Donald Trump said it was “old news.”
The skepticism that followed is understandable given that Bondi’s February “big reveal” of those files turned into a clown show charade because the DOJ’s 200-page Epstein document dump included nothing new. It was one of the two biggest unforced errors by Trump’s top administrative disruptors, the other being SecDef Pete Hegseth’s unfortunate Signal chat snafu.
Who knows, maybe one of Joe Biden’s autopen puppeteers ordered Epstein’s blackmail dossier destroyed because there were too many Demos in his secret videos. For sure, after almost six months, Bondi still seems not ready for prime time, but hey, she is much better than Trump’s previous AG nominee, Matt Gaetz, who seemed like he would have fit right in on Epstein’s fantasy island.
However, there was some other news yesterday pertaining to another dossier that hardly got a mention — though it pertains to the most egregious deep-state assault on a sitting president in the history of our nation.
As you may recall, last week CIA Director John Ratcliffe released the declassified report on a comprehensive review he ordered of the agency’s analysis on Russia collusion in the 2016 election.
According to Ratcliffe: “[President Trump] has trusted me with helping to end weaponization of US intelligence. [This] report underscores that the 2016 IC Assessment was conducted through an atypical and corrupt process under the politically charged environments of former Dir. Brennan and former FBI Dir. Comey. All the world can now see the truth: Brennan, Clapper and Comey manipulated intelligence and silenced career professionals — all to get Trump. Thank you to the career CIA officers who conducted this review and exposed the facts.”
Page 5 of the CIA report regarding the Steele dossier, which was used to justify the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants and the investigation into Trump, notes: “Despite these objections, Brennan showed a preference for narrative consistency over analytical soundness. When confronted with specific flaws in the Dossier by the two mission center leaders — one with extensive operational experience and the other with a strong analytic background — he appeared more swayed by the Dossier’s general conformity with existing theories than by legitimate tradecraft concerns. Brennan ultimately formalized his position in writing, stating that ‘my bottom line is that I believe that the information warrants inclusion in the report.’”
That means then-CIA Director John Brennan discarded the advice of career CIA officers who insisted he should not include the dossier in the formal ICA because it was unfounded — and likely tied to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign against Trump. That directly contradicts Brennan’s closed-door testimony to Congress that he did not advocate for the inclusion of the spurious Steele dossier.
And that opens the perjury door — the first step to prosecuting Brennan. In Brennan’s testimony, he declared: “I was not involved in analyzing the dossier at all… And the CIA was not involved at all with the dossier. You can direct that to the FBI and to others.”
Oh, I suspect FBI Director Kash Patel will now be doing just that… As one former CIA case officer noted, “My former boss — CIA Director John Brennan — should rot in prison.” And right next to James Comey.
For background on just how deep this conspiracy went, in a 2020 column, “Indict Clinton’s FISA Collusion Conspiracy Collaborators,” I wrote about the key conspirators in what was, in effect, a deep-state coup d’état to take Trump down.
I noted that the colluders in this coup attempt were under the direction of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and included a brazen cabal of operatives at the highest levels of the most powerful government agencies. These operatives included former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI Director James Comey, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former FBI Chief of Counterespionage Peter Strzok, FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, and former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. All of whom colluded with then-House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) in his repeated efforts to impeach President Trump.
Their fingerprints were all over the coup crime scene, starting with the FISA setup of LTG Michael Flynn (USA Ret.), Obama’s former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (2012-2014). Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell declassified and released the list of Obama operatives who “unmasked” Flynn, including Comey, Brennan, Obama’s then-Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, and, of course, Joe Biden, who previously declared, “I know nothing about those moves to investigate Michael Flynn.” At the time, the Department of Justice filed a motion to dismiss its case against Flynn.
Adam Schiff, with the help of his Leftmedia propagandists, spent every waking hour of Trump’s first two years in office advancing the fake collusion delusion, which was determined by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller to be totally fabricated. As it turns out, the collusion lie was funded by then-Trump presidential opponent Hillary Clinton.
On 4 January 2017, two weeks before Trump’s inauguration, FBI investigators were going to close the Flynn case because there was no case. Within minutes of receiving that memo, Peter Strzok emailed the case agent: “Hey, if you haven’t closed [the Flynn case] don’t do so yet.” The agent replied: “What’s up?” Strzok answered, “7th floor involved.” The FBI’s top officials (Comey and McCabe) were located on the 7th floor of FBI headquarters. That was the Flynn setup, and it enabled the entire collusion delusion to cascade.
At the time, Trump scorched the deep-state operatives who entrapped Flynn in order to launch their fabricated investigation: “The Obama administration Justice Department was a disgrace and they got caught. They got caught. Very dishonest people. It’s treason. … What they’ve done is a disgrace and I hope a big price is going to be paid. A big price should be paid. There’s never been anything like this in the history of our country. … What the Obama administration did is unprecedented. It’s never happened. … They’re scum and I say it a lot, they’re scum; they’re human scum. This should never have happened in this country. … [Flynn] was a great warrior and he still is a great warrior. … What happened to him should never happen again.”
The fact is, Comey and Brennan should be indicted as co-conspirators based on clear evidence of their collusion, starting with the fake FISA warrants used to justify the Trump wiretaps in order to take down a U.S. president.
Evidence against Brennan has been referred to FBI Director Patel for consideration of prosecution.
But after the Russian-collusion conspiracy had been totally exposed as a fabrication and debunked, nobody went to jail. Even the FBI’s Clinesmith, who was convicted for altering information to launch the FISA investigation, received probation rather than jail time.
No surprise given that Brennan and Comey are the nation’s two most skilled black-bag bureaucrats in the art of using cutouts to short-circuit any direct prosecutable links to them.
We will see where this investigation goes, though it will likely end up in the same file containing Epstein’s blackmail dossier.
That being said, after Hillary Clinton’s house of cards collapsed in 2023, leaving her dependent on Brennan and Comey to cover her trail, I am certain that teams of lawyers for both Barack Obama and Clinton will be loading up a lot of billable hours in the weeks ahead on the outside chance that perjury charges against Brennan result in the collapse of the Brennan/Comey house of cards.
Finally, how ironic that after Brennan fabricated the Russian disinformation lie against Trump just ahead of the 2016 election to help Clinton, he then fabricated another “Russian disinformation” lie regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop just ahead of the 2020 election to help the “Big Guy.”
