Hegseth speaks at Pentagon after US strikes Iranian nuclear facilities

Follow live as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth speaks from the Pentagon after President Donald Trump ordered the bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday.

The U.S. military “totally obliterated” the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities, according to Trump, who announced the strikes on Truth Social and called for peace, later adding that Iran “must now agree to end” the conflict, which began with Israeli strikes against Iran over a week ago.

US HAS ‘COMPLETED’ BOMBING OF IRANIAN NUCLEAR SITES, TRUMP SAYS

Six 30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs were dropped on the Fordow fuel enrichment plant, according to Fox News’s Sean Hannity, who spoke with Trump after the strike, and 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired at the Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities by U.S. submarines. All three sites were reported to be destroyed.

Hegseth is scheduled to speak at 8 a.m.
