Ron Helle: TripTik | The Patriot Post

Before GPS, there was TripTik — the traveler’s guide to your intended destination. TripTik took you from start to finish. Initially, the directions are pretty simple. You have a turn-by-turn, street-by-street route to the main highway. There are warnings about travel hazards and advice on time-of-day impacts as you pass through towns on your journey.

Now, if the Auto Club is concerned about ensuring the traveler has the correct information to bring them to their desired destination, how much more does our Father in Heaven desire that we have all we need to navigate the Highway to Heaven? He has provided that for us in the Bible because mankind always seems to lose its sense of direction.

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” (Proverbs 14:12, ESV)

Because of our tendency to take wrong turns, God provides us with a travel adviser who helps us understand the directions we need.

“Your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:20-21)

As we proceed down the highway of life, we find the road more challenging and the need for instructions becomes greater.

“For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:14)

Just like the trip ticket will provide precise turn and distance details, so too Scripture provides details on how to navigate life’s greatest hazards. And while the Auto Club can be pretty precise, God has a perfect record of providing the right details at the right time because He is out there on the road with us.

What say ye, Man of Valor?
Semper Fidelis!
