President Donald Trump called for his supporters on Thursday to boycott Bruce Springsteen after the rock musician launched a nationwide concert tour this week in Minneapolis, where he honored the two U.S. citizens who were fatally shot by federal immigration officers in January.
Trump has clashed with Springsteen since his increased activist rhetoric over the years, most recently in a Thursday morning tirade.
“Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He went on to call Springsteen a “total loser” while touting his 2024 election victory and second-term accomplishments so far. He then issued a final message to conservative voters affiliated with the Make America Great Again movement.
“MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AMERICA IS BACK,” Trump concluded.
Springsteen began his Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour on Tuesday with his recently released song, “Streets of Minneapolis,” which is dedicated to Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
Interspersed with images of Trump and former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the music video features footage of federal officers detaining people and fending off anti-ICE protesters in the Minnesota city.
During his opening performance there, the New Jersey rocker played his 1986 hit song, “War,” a direct repudiation of Trump’s war in Iran.
Springsteen will tour the nation for the next eight weeks, ending on May 27 in Washington, D.C.
“This tour is going to be political and very topical about what’s going on in the country,” Springsteen told the Minnesota Star Tribune. “Minneapolis and St. Paul, that was the place that I wanted to begin it, and I wanted to end it in Washington.”

His next performance will be this Friday in Portland, another city that saw an increased ICE presence. Other tour stops include San Francisco on April 13, Chicago on April 29, and Pittsburgh on May 19.
Known for his working-class image, Springsteen is currently facing backlash for charging upwards of $800 for ticket prices during his 2026 tour. Some seats cost as much as $3,000 or $5,000. The prices fluctuate dramatically due to Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model, but fans are laying the blame on the 76-year-old musician.
