Re: ‘Too Dumb to Vote’?

“Let’s cut to the chase: Please bring into your SAVE Act hearing one adult American citizen who wishes to vote but is unable to obtain a voter ID. Not a hundred Americans. Not a thousand Americans. Just ONE.” —Pennsylvania

“As a woman, I have had to update my ID several times over the years. I have never had a problem with this task. I got my first ID under my maiden name. I got a new ID when I got married. I got a new ID when the marriage ended in divorce and I legally returned to my maiden name. I got a new ID when I got married again. And finally, I got a new ID when that marriage ended in my husband’s death and I remarried. How can anyone, even Democrats, not see the truth?” —Oregon

Re: The SAVE Act Is Common Sense — But It Needs One Change

“The idea that the cost of getting citizenship documents effectively amounts to a ‘poll tax’ is far-fetched. The Constitution prohibits a direct government measure to impede voting by requiring a fee or tax. It does not oblige governments to eliminate every indirect burden or cost associated with voting. Common sense tells us that there will always be costs to cast one’s vote. One may need to purchase gas for the car trip or grab cash for the bus or subway to get to the voting booth. Most states provide a birth certificate for $10, less than a trip to McDonald’s.” —Minnesota

“The 24th Amendment should certainly be adhered to. However, the SAVE Act should limit free identification forms to solely being used for voting purposes. Obtaining a passport or other general-use documents for free should not be encouraged, as these documents should be paid for at the standard rate; otherwise, there will be different rules for different people.” —Florida

Re: Walz, Ellison Get a Grilling

“Tim Walz and Keith Ellison will probably see no repercussions for their devious behavior in Minnesota. These hearings produce sound bites and clips and nothing more. Trey Gowdy set the standard of sound and fury signifying nothing. But he did get a gig at Fox News.” —New Jersey

Re: ‘A Sobering Picture’ of Military Readiness

“People used to say that Russia had the second-most-powerful military in the world. It’s probably more correct to say that it has the second-most-powerful military in Ukraine.” —Utah

Re: Noem Deported From DHS

“I thought Kristi Noem did a good job. Perhaps she was a bad hire if what President Trump says is true. He made plenty of bad hires in his first term.” —Minnesota

“Noem did a great job! The optics weren’t good, but she got the job done. The two loons that were killed in Minnesota brought it upon themselves. That was not Noem’s fault, and quite honestly, I couldn’t care less what the Democrats have to say.” —Illinois

Re: Who Is Texas’s James Talarico?

“These are the people that should have their pants sued off. Stop perpetuating the lie of transgenderism! That is a huge oxymoron, because God created male and female, and a boy will never be a girl and a girl will never be a boy. James needs to pick up his Holy Bible and get a refresher.” —Texas

“Talarico refers to the Gospel of Luke and says that ‘God asks for Mary’s consent’ and that ‘the angel asks Mary if this is something she wants to do.’ He then challenges his audience to read Luke for themselves, knowing full well that few will do so. The inspired Luke writes no such thing! Read it for yourself. Talarico’s argument that the Bible supports abortion falls apart completely. He is a false prophet.” —Wisconsin

Re: The Left’s $4.4T Tax Hike

“Funny that Bernie Sanders wants to raise taxes on the wealthy. That parasite has been a freeloader his entire life. He knows nothing about creating jobs or creating products or running a business, yet he wants to dig into the pockets of the people who worked hard to gain the wealth that they have. That is a joke! Sanders is a joke!” —Illinois
