The visit is expected to touch on the affordability messaging that Trump repeatedly highlighted in his remarks to both branches of Congress as he tours a manufacturing facility in Plover. The GOP is in an uphill climb to maintain control of both chambers of Congress, as Democrats have overperformed during last year’s election and in a majority of special elections.
Vance is also reportedly expected to visit the district represented by Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI), a retired Navy SEAL. Van Orden won election to the House during the 2022 midterm elections, flipping the district red for the first time in 26 years.

Van Orden narrowly won reelection in 2024, but the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is hoping to retake control of the seat and Rep. Bryan Steil’s (R-WI) seat, thereby gaining control of the House, during this year’s midterm elections. Trump won Wisconsin during the 2024 election and has already endorsed Van Orden, but Democrats are betting that his souring approval rating will help boost their candidates in November.
Similar to Trump’s speech, the vice president will likely blame Democrats and former President Joe Biden for handing the Trump administration an economic mess to clean up.
Vance previously travelled to Toledo, Ohio, and Minneapolis last month as part of the administration’s increased messaging on affordability.
Trump will also visit Corpus Christi, Texas, on Friday, where he will speak on energy and the economy, days before the high-profile Senate primary in the Lone Star State.
STATE OF THE UNION: HERE’S WHAT TRUMP DIDN’T SAY
The president has not endorsed a candidate in the three-way GOP primary involving the scandal-plagued state attorney general Ken Paxton, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), and Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX). Yet, both Paxton and Cornyn were in attendance at the Capitol for Trump’s State of the Union, while Hunt hosted a watch party in Texas before the March 3 primary.
The Washington Examiner reached out to the White House for comment on whether other Cabinet members will travel across the nation this week to tout Trump’s accomplishments.
