The ‘Diversity’ Counsellor Who Praised Hamas’ October 7 Atrocity

Order Jamie Glazov’s new book, ‘United in Hate: The Left’s Romance with Tyranny, Terror, and Hamas’HERE.

In the United Kingdom, a Labour member of Parliament, Damien Egan, was scheduled to visit the Brunel Academy, a school in his constituency of Bristol North East. His visit was called off after pressure from local anti-Israel campaigners and union members. No Jewish MP, even one on the political left, is apparently to be allowed to visit a school in his constituency, where he might have engaged in a useful discussion with students on the main issues of the day and to listen to their concerns.

Now it turns out that the Diversity and Inclusion Officer at the Cabot Learning Foundation, that runs the Brunel Academy, played a major role in the decision to cancel MP Egan’s visit. Her name is Saima Akhtar, and after the MP’s visit had been cancelled, the authorities discovered her praise of the atrocities that Hamas carried out on October 7, 2023 as the work of “heroes.”

More on this deplorable situation can be found here.

The diversity and inclusion lead for a secondary school that called off a visit from a Jewish MP suggested Hamas terrorists acted as “heroes” in the October 7 attacks.

Labour MP Damien Egan was due to attend Brunel Academy in his Bristol North East constituency in September, but the visit was cancelled following pressure from pro-Palestine campaigners and union members.

The activists cited what they termed “safeguarding concerns” and highlighted the MP’s role as vice chair of Labour Friends of Israel….

The “activists” claimed to be worried about ‘safeguarding concerns’ — meaning that the MP’s appearance could cause students and faculty to violently demonstrate against him. So it was not his right to visit and speak to students that was being protected, but the anti-Israel activists’ determination to keep him out that prevailed.

It has now been revealed that Saima Akhtar, the diversity and inclusion leader at Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) which runs the school, showed praise for Hamas over the attacks on October 7, 2023.

Hamas terrorists killed some 1,200 people and abducted 251 others in an assault on Israel in the atrocious attacks.

Hamas didn’t just kill people. That wouldn’t have been as much fun as what those terrorists did do. The terrorists gang-raped girls and women, they beheaded babies, they tied up family members together with wire and then set them on fire, they subjected their victims to every fiendish torture they could think of, they mutilated bodies by slicing off the breasts of women and the genitalia of men, they gouged out the eyes of their victims when they were still living, and then they killed them. These are the “heroes” who so impressed Saima Akhtar.

According to The Times, the day after the attacks, Ms Akhtar wrote a post to Facebook which said “Palestine is fighting back” against an “apartheid” carried out by Israel, labelling it a “a war against their oppressors.”

There was no “apartheid” in Gaza when Hamas attacked. Every Israeli had been pulled out of the Strip in 2005. There was no Israeli oppression of the Gazans. The Israeli government had urged Qatar to financially support the Gazans, unaware that the money would not go to help ordinary Gazans, but instead went to Hamas. The Israelis themselves tried to help the Gazans by offering them work inside Israel; some 19,000 were employed there, and they earned three to four times what they would be paid in Gaza itself. Many thousands more of these guest workers from Gaza were about to be allowed into Israel when the Hamas attackers struck. Before the attacks, Israel was supplying Gaza with water, fuel, and food. But none of this means anything to Saima Akhtar. She calls the victims of Hamas’ atrocities “oppressors” and claims that the Palestinians are fighting for their “right to exist.”

The Palestinians are not fighting for “their right to exist.” It is Israel that is fighting for its existence, the existence that the Arabs wish to end. The Arabs are fighting to destroy Israel, and to expel or kill all of its Jewish inhabitants, and to replace the one Jewish state with a 23rd Arab state.

Saima Akhtar informs us that her work is “intersectional, trauma-informed and unapologetically anti-racist, with a strong commitment to trans rights, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and global solidarity, including support for Palestinian human rights.”

Oh dear. How comically predictable. How very up to date is Ms. Akhtar, with her work that is “intersectional, trauma-informed, and unapologetically anti-racist,” and let’s not forget her “strong commitment to trans rights, LGBTQ inclusion, global solidarity” and her “support for Palestinian human rights.” She’s touched all the bases. Give that woman a prize. No, on second thought, dismiss her at once. She’s a moral idiot.

Akhtar tells us that she is “unapologetically anti-racist,” unaware that her antisemitism is the oldest and most murderous of all racisms — it killed six million people not so long ago.

Now that the authorities at the Cabot Learning Foundation, that operates the Brunel School, have learned that Saima Akhtar, the Diversity and Inclusion head at the school, is a violent antisemite, will they do as they should, and fire her for her murderous and racist hate? For how else can one describe her praise of rape, torture, mutilation, and murder of Israelis by Hamas on October 7, 2023?

The cancellation of MP Damien Egan’s visit to the Brunel school raised such an uproar — even mentioned at Question Time in Parliament — that to save face, and possibly to keep its contract to run the Brunel school, the Cabot Learning Foundation has now set another date for MP Egan to visit the school.

There’s just one more thing. Justice must be seen to be done. The Brunel School must fire Saima Akhtar, a virulent antisemite and admirer of Hamas’ worst atrocities.
