Order Robert Spencer’s new book, Holy Hell: Islam’s Abuse of Women and the Infidels Who Enable It: HERE.
A second civil war in the United States has seemed to be on the horizon for years, and many have predicted its imminent arrival, but one courageous man, way out ahead of us all, is already fighting it. That man is Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and he wants you to know that he is standing in the vanguard against the evil forces of Orange Man Bad, who are committing the heinous and unpardonable crime of… enforcing the nation’s immigration laws.
When a professional leftist agitator was shot and killed after hitting an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent with her car, Walz threatened to take the left’s hatred of President Donald Trump and his efforts to secure the integrity of America’s borders to the next level, with active armed resistance: he threatened to deploy the Minnesota National Guard against ICE, saying: “We have soldiers in training and prepared to be deployed if necessary.”
Sounding every bit like a Southern governor during our first Civil War touting loyalty to the state over loyalty to the federal government, Walz continued: “I remind you, a warning order is a heads-up for folks, and these National Guard troops are our National Guard troops. They’re teachers in your community, they’re business owners, they’re construction professionals. They are Minnesotans. Minnesota will not allow our community to be used as a prop in a national political fight.”
Walz acknowledged that he had entered uncharted territory, reminding his audience that “we’ve never been at war with our federal government,” with the clear implication that this was about to change. Yet despite the unprecedented character of what he was doing, he found a historical analogy for it in the first Civil War, when the 1st Minnesota infantry held the line and saved the day for the Union at the Battle of Gettysburg.
“I’ve seen it throughout our history,” Walz said. “When things looked really bleak, it was Minnesota’s 1st that held that line for the nation on that July 3, 1863. And I think now we may be in that moment, that the nation is looking to us to hold the line on democracy, to hold the line on decency, to hold the line on accountability.”
Clear away the fog of Orwellian doublespeak, and what you have here is the specter of a man claiming the mantle of those who fought to preserve the Union while imitating those who fought to tear it apart. We have a man speaking about “democracy” while threatening to call out military force against officers of the law who are enforcing recognized laws of the United States at the behest of a democratically-elected president of the republic.
This is the apotheosis of the left’s narcissistic and paranoidfantasies: that Trump is an evil dictator-in-the-making, and when they stand for the erasure of our borders and the advance of globalist socialist authoritarianism, they’re plucky freedom fighters in the mold of Tom Paine and Sam Adams. It’s not just ridiculous: it’s getting people killed. Not just deluded useful idiots such as Renee Good in Minnesota, but also patriots such as Charlie Kirk and others whose murderers believe they have done a righteous deed in ridding the world of a “fascist.”
That’s the danger of Walz’s rhetoric. He can bandy about phrases such as being “at war with the federal government” because he knows that if the Trump administration does move to hold him accountable for his likely involvement in Minnesota’s staggeringly large Somali migrant fraud scandal, as well as for his efforts to obstruct lawful ICE activities, he will immediately become a martyr, a hero of the “resistance,” standing heroically against the forces of the evil Trump, no matter what the cost.
For decades, leftists have been calling every successive Republican president “Hitler,” and Trump, who has been a good deal more effective than any of them, is even more Hitler than that. Every effort to restore America to a nation of secure borders and equality of rights of all people before the law is twisted into a nightmare of descending oppression of “brown” people or “trans” people or whichever people the left is idolizing at any given moment, with the establishment media duly reinforcing the propaganda line.
Tim Walz knows he has nothing to worry about. He can talk civil war all he wants, and if Trump makes any move against him whatsoever for his genuinely seditious activity, he knows the media will wrap him in the flag and make this bumbling goof into a titan of courage. A real civil war may come, and if it does, it is unlikely that Tim Walz will play any significant role in it. But he is certainly playing a significant role in inciting it.
