DHS releases video of Renee Good blocking traffic before ICE shooting

The over 3 minutes of footage taken from a nearby building shows Good’s Honda Pilot blocking one side of a two-lane residential street where ICE officers are conducting the operation. She appears to be blaring her horn before some federal vehicles manage to move around her. As Good waves them on, officers from another vehicle exit and approach her, which is seemingly just before she is fatally shot after “weaponizing” her vehicle and attempting to run the officer over with her car, according to DHS.

The new footage comes as state Democratic lawmakers continue to claim Good was actively trying to leave the scene of the ICE operation and was not disrupting it.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey repeated that claim on Sunday on Meet the Press.

“You had a person that was definitively trying to just get out of there. They were trying to leave the scene,” Frey told Kristen Welker. “That is not a person who is trying to run an ICE agent over.”

Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) also previously said Good was shot and killed “for no reason whatsoever,” adding that the shooting was “preventable” and “unnecessary.”

THE MINNEAPOLIS SHOOTING: THAT SETTLES IT

The Trump administration, meanwhile, has maintained that Good was “stalking and impeding” ICE officers’ work by “blocking them in” and “shouting at them.”

DHS reiterated that statement on Sunday, responding to the new footage by saying, “For more than 3 minutes the anti-ICE agitator impeded a law enforcement operation with her vehicle.”
