Sex, Islam and Videotape | Frontpage Mag

Order Robert Spencer’s new book, Holy Hell: Islam’s Abuse of Women and the Infidels Who Enable ItHERE.

The video started circulating widely on X on New Year’s Eve, and was quickly slapped with warnings that it contained “adult content.” That was fair enough, as the video depicts a couple engaged in sexual intercourse, although it contains no nudity. They are caught in video as they ride a bus in London. If the video has not been taken down altogether, you can see it, should you wish to do so, here.

The video is striking not just for its salacious content, but for the fact that the couple appears to be Muslim, as the woman is wearing a hijab. The contrast between the garb, which is a very public announcement of an intention to be modest and to adhere to Islam’s mores, and the act of public intercourse couldn’t be sharper, but this one lewd act on a bus that was caught on video has implications far beyond that.

First, there is the fact that according to the tenets of her religion, this woman, if she was the wife of the man involved, had no right to refuse him, even though they were riding on a bus. A hadith depicts Muhammad declaring: “If a husband calls his wife to his bed [i.e. to have sexual relation] and she refuses and causes him to sleep in anger, the angels will curse her till morning” (Bukhari 4.54.460).

And another has Muhammad saying this: “By him in Whose Hand lies my life, a woman can not carry out the right of her Lord, till she carries out the right of her husband. And if he asks her to surrender herself [to him for sexual intercourse] she should not refuse him even if she is on a camel’s saddle” (Ibn Majah 1853).

In light of those hadiths, it could be that the couple is married, and that she had no possibility of refusing him on a bus any more than she would have, as Muhammad is supposed to have said, if she had been riding a camel.

Another possibility, of course, is that they are not married, and did this on the bus for lack of any place where they could have uninterrupted privacy; getting caught in the act could, in that case, have had lethal consequences for either or both of them, up to and including the honor murder of the young woman. If that is what is happening in this video, this is another example of Islam’s culture of hypocrisy and the hollowness of its moral critique of the West. Outward conformity is all; if you break the rules but don’t get caught, you didn’t break the rules. The idea of actual virtue, of doing what is right when no one is looking, is a distinctly minority view. So in this case, the woman is wearing hijab; therefore, she is virtuous. Outward appearances have been duly maintained, albeit imperfectly, thanks to this videographer.

Still, we don’t see videos out of Riyadh or Tehran of people having sexual relations on a bus. Maybe it happens and people don’t post the videos, or the regimes stop them, but another possible reason for why this happens in London but not in Karachi or Mogadishu is that these Muslims are rubbing the Western infidels’ noses in their own weakness and cowardice. They know they can behave with absolute impunity without being called to account. And so they do just that.

For the deep crisis in which the West finds itself today, the West has no one to blame but itself. The Muslim migrants who have so much contempt for European culture and European laws are in Europe today thanks to the children and heirs of those who shed their blood and sacrificed their treasure to keep Europe safe from jihad and Sharia. Heedless of the lessons of history and concerned only with their own short-term political gain, European leaders enthusiastically welcomed those migrants into their countries.

Regarding the centuries of jihad, in which Muslims repeatedly attempted to conquer and subjugate Europe, those leaders didn’t so say “All is forgiven,” for they couldn’t possibly forgive what they had forgotten had happened in the first place. Europe today is full of irenic fiction about how tolerant and multicultural Islamic Spain and even the Ottoman Empire were. This fiction justifies the acts of European politicians; it also condemns their people to the subjugation and slavery their ancestors gave so much to stave off.

And America is not very far behind Europe at all.

It was just one couple on a bus. But it revealed a civilization in its death throes.
