President Donald Trump has just won a major victory in a war that has been waged against the United States for decades, without any significant response from the American side. Trump made the announcement at 4:21 a.m. EST on Saturday morning, Jan. 3, 2026:
The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country. This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow. There will be a News Conference today at 11 A.M., at Mar-a-Lago. Thank you for your attention to this matter! Attorney General Pam Bondi added at 7:25 a.m.:
Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have been indicted in the Southern District of New York. Nicolas Maduro has been charged with Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices, and Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices against the United States. They will soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts. On behalf of the entire U.S. DOJ, I would like to thank President Trump for having the courage to demand accountability on behalf of the American People, and a huge thank you to our brave military who conducted the incredible and highly successful mission to capture these two alleged international narco traffickers.
America fought a long and fruitless “War on Drugs,” without ever acknowledging the increasingly obvious fact that the drugs were indeed a weapon of a war that other countries were waging against the United States. Now, finally, the U.S. has struck against one of the principal agents who has been waging that war, Venezuela’s Maduro.
Those who are aware of how destructive the spread of leftism in South America has been were hopeful that this would herald the dawning of better days. Jorge Jraissati, a Venezuelan economist, stated: “After two decades of communism and hunger, today could mark the end of the darkest period in our history.” Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez (R-Fla.) wrote:
President Trump has changed the course of history in our hemisphere. Our country & the world are safer for it.
Today’s decisive action is this hemisphere’s equivalent to the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
It’s a big day in Florida, where the majority of Venezuelan, Cuban, & Nicaraguan exiles reside. This is the community I represent & we are overwhelmed with emotion and hope.

Political commentator Joey Mannarino added: “I’m with some Cubans right now and they’re literally crying tears of joy. Venezuelans are celebrating all over the globe too. If anyone thinks this military operation was a bad idea you have NO idea how many votes we just gained for the midterms. Trump is now the absolute hero of the Latin Americans.”
The usual suspects were, of course, out in force. CNN scolded that “US did not give Colombia advance warning of Venezuela operation, source says.” Without even bothering to find out what his name is (Yván Gil), MS NOW gave prominent place to the statement of Venezuela’s foreign minister: “Venezuela rejects, repudiates and denounces before the international community the extremely grave military aggression carried out by the current Government of the United States of America against Venezuelan territory and population.”
Sure, buddy. “Aggression,” after Venezuela has flooded the U.S. with drugs and destroyed the lives of countless young Americans. The capture of Nicolás Maduro makes it abundantly clear: as long as Trump is president, the era of passive accepting the destruction of our country at the hands of its enemies is over. The era of managed decline is over. The Americans, including American officials, who have profited from the poisoning of our nation’s youth are put on notice, as are other state actors that have been participating in this long war against the United States of America.
Donald Trump has completely shattered the status quo, and acted decisively to stop the actions of the traitor class that has been in power in the United States for far too long. If he succeeds in breaking its power completely, the nation will see the beginning of a true golden age. On Saturday, Trump took a strong and decisive step toward that goal.
