These days, when good news seems harder and harder to come by, it’s a welcome gift to read about and report on something positive, and today, the pro-life cause is just that.
Unquestionably, the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision was a good — no, great — thing, but some of what came in its wake was massively detrimental to the pro-life cause and efforts. Some states passed laws allowing unlimited abortion, others passed laws that enabled abortionists to circumvent pro-life laws, and then we had the rise of drug-induced abortions through Mifepristone, which led to an 11% increase in infant deaths since 2020. The silver lining in this very dark time is that pregnancy clinics across the country are rising to the task. Now more than ever, women and children need protection and support, and life-affirming pregnancy centers have provided for record numbers of them in 2024 alone.
In studies conducted by the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) from 2018 through 2024, documented levels of care provided by the centers have steadily risen. In the CLI’s 2025 National Pregnancy Center Report, which analyzes national survey data from all 50 states, they highlighted some very encouraging and significant findings:
- Pregnancy centers saw more than one million new clients, the equivalent of each center serving a new client every day in 2024.
- 2,775 pregnancy centers provided a total value of over $452 million in medical care, support, education, and material goods.
- Eight in 10 centers are providing free or low-cost medical services, staffed by over 10,000 medical professionals.
- Tangible, material support has skyrocketed — over $116 million in value, a 48% increase from 2022 — showing that pregnancy centers are meeting real needs of families.
- In 2024, 29% of pregnancy centers provided Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) as a service, and 77% offered post-abortion support.
- Client satisfaction rose to 98%.
One of the biggest battles is against the abortion pill due to the huge increase in usage because of easy access, amongst other problems. The Washington Stand relates, “The latest annual report shows how abortion pill distributions have surged to record levels, fueled mostly by mail-order pills shipped in plain envelopes with no in-person exam, no ultrasound, and no follow-up care required due to loosened Biden-era FDA rules.” After being fed the lie that the abortion pill is completely safe for women, many find themselves in intense pain and often in dangerous situations where they are alone with no medical support. As many pro-lifers have warned, for every box of Mifepristone shipped without oversight, two lives are at risk — the baby and the mother.
This is where the abortion pill reversal is so crucial. Thousands of women have called pregnancy center hotlines after taking the baby-killing drug, asking for help. Peer-reviewed research has shown that in cases where women have started the APR protocol within 72 hrs of taking Mifepristone, 64-68% of the pregnancies were saved with no increased risk of birth defects. CLI’s report noted, “According to the Abortion Pill Rescue Network (APRN), statistics show more than 7,000 children’s lives had been saved by the APR protocol as of June 2025.”
As CLI Executive Director Karen Czarnecki told The Washington Stand, not only are these pregnancy centers a hope for the unborn children, they are also a hope for women in the face of a billion-dollar industry that doesn’t care about their health and well-being. “Planned Parenthood, and the abortion industry in general, is trying to sell women on the idea that mailing abortion drugs in unmarked containers without any medical supervision is ‘quality health care.’ That couldn’t be further from the truth.”
This is why SBA Pro-Life’s communications director, Kelsey Pritchard, stated that her organization is investing $80 million to reach 10.5 million voters before the 2026 midterms. She argued that lasting protection for women and children requires a pro-life House, Senate, and White House willing “to make it permanent law across the whole government that taxpayers are never forced to fund abortion or abortion businesses.” Planned Parenthood depends on taxpayer funds for 40% of its revenue, and we need to see more states follow the example of South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Nebraska, which have ensured abortion stays out of their state-funded Medicaid programs.
We know that this is a multifaceted battle with attacks coming from many sides, and when 95% of the reasons women choose to get abortions are elective or unspecified, you can be sure this is spiritual. This is another reason why pregnancy clinics are on the front lines — they not only meet the physical needs, but they also address the underlying issues at play. A separate report by CLI revealed that 60% of women with a history of abortion would have preferred to give birth if they had received either more emotional support or had more financial security. Recent research has shown perceived pressure to abort and direct coercion to be additional reasons women choose to have an abortion. It’s no wonder when we have a culture that has thrown away and demonized everything that brings stability, meaning, and happiness to women — namely, God, marriage, and children.
So, pray for and support those on the front lines of the fight for the dignity of life in all its forms, as all are created in the image of God, whether unborn, elderly, or disabled. All human life bears witness to our Creator, which is why Satan and those supporting the evil of abortion want to snuff it out whenever and however possible. As Czarnecki concluded, “It’s imperative that pregnancy centers continue to increase the availability of services — walking alongside women, men, and families to provide love, education, and support so they can courageously choose life.”
Let’s give thanks this Thanksgiving for the great work these pregnancy clinics (like our friends at Chattanooga’s Choices Pregnancy Resource Center) are doing across the country to be light and truth in these dark, deceptive days. Let’s also keep Galatians 6:9 on our hearts and minds as we strive against the forces of evil, “And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
