That’ll show Trump.
New Jersey Gov.-elect Mikie Sherrill is floating a new way to push back against President Donald Trump‘s administration.
While speaking with comedian and New Jersey native Jon Stewart earlier this week, Sherrill called the idea of the state withholding federal tax dollars a “good idea,” adding, “I think about that all the time.”
You know what’s a great plan, doing whatever an addled elderly comedian who pretends to be an expert on politics says to do.
Does this mean New Jersey residents can also stop paying taxes? Because Jersey has the highest property taxes in the country. Seniors are forced to leave their homes to fund the public school cartels in Newark and other failed cities.
The median property tax in New Jersey was $9,413. The stare ranks 6th in the nation in its overall tax burden. Had Chris Christie actually done something about that instead of posting fake videos of him yelling at people to bolster his presidential ambitions, the state might be Republican. Instead it’s been run by Dems who have taxed it to death.
Last year, New Jersey was number one in residents leaving. In one poll about half of residents want to leave.
About half of Garden State residents polled mention some form of taxes when asked to name the most important issues facing New Jersey right now. Property taxes (39%) tops this list, as it has on almost every occasion Monmouth has asked this top-of-mind question going back to 2009. The second most frequently mentioned issue is the economy and cost of living (24%), which has not registered this high a concern since 2009.
So sure. ‘Mikie’ can stop turning over taxes to the federal government. And New Jersey residents can stop turning over their taxes to her corrupt state government.
