President Donald Trump rescinded his support and endorsement of Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) after her public criticism of the GOP during the government shutdown.
“I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia,” he wrote in a Friday night Truth Social post.
Trump suggested he would support a Georgia primary against Greene, who he says has gone “far-left” after he previously discouraged her from running for a higher office.
The Georgia Republican has split from her party on several occasions recently, including backing healthcare subsidies and pointing the finger at Republicans for a lack of healthcare alternatives to the Affordable Care Act, during the recent government shutdown. Democrats had largely suggested the subsidies were the reason for the shutdown, which ended earlier this week.
Greene was also one of four Republicans to sign on to a discharge petition regarding the release of the Epstein files, which reached the necessary 218 signatures in the House this week.
“All I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN! It seemed to all begin when I sent her a Poll stating that she should not run for Senator, or Governor, she was at 12%, and didn’t have a chance (unless, of course, she had my Endorsement — which she wasn’t about to get!),” he added after touting the administration’s accomplishments.
Trump said Greene is “upset” that the president doesn’t return her calls, and called her a “ranting lunatic.” He suggested that Greene’s appearance on “The View” earlier this month was the tipping point, as the program often criticizes Trump.
“I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day,” he wrote. “I understand that wonderful, Conservative people are thinking about primarying Marjorie in her District of Georgia, that they too are fed up with her and her antics and, if the right person runs, they will have my Complete and Unyielding Support. She has gone Far Left, even doing The View, with their Low IQ Republican hating Anchors.”
The day after appearing on “The View,” Greene blamed Republicans for their 2025 general election losses.
“You can’t meme and throw red meat rants and interviews and get your way out of this. These people are serious and only support action, they are done with words. And I completely agree with them,” she wrote.
MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE DIGS IN ON ‘AMERICA ONLY’ VALUES AFTER WAVING OFF TRUMP CRITICISM
Greene solidified herself as the House’s most ardent Trump supporter at one point. Earlier this week, she waved off criticism from Trump that she had “lost her way.”
Greene told reporters she “100% hasn’t changed” and that she is “okay” with the president not liking her.
“I’m America first, America only,” she reiterated to reporters Wednesday.
